Recently, I came across a man on TikTok named Dan Bui, who creates meals inspired by books of the Bible and Bible stories and tells the stories while he is cooking. His creativity fascinated me because I’ve never seen such a unique way of using talents to spread the word of God. It reminded me of the verse: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17). No matter what talent you have, no matter how small you think it is, you can use it to spread the Word, to testify, and to win souls for the Lord.

For a long time, I believed if I couldn’t sing, write, speak, or act, there was no way I could make an impact. It felt like those were the only ways to witness to someone in a way that would inspire them to change their life and give it to God. But Dan’s culinary skills reminded me that there are countless ways to glorify God using our gifts.

Take Lydia, for example. She was a smart businesswoman, a seller of purple cloth, which was highly valuable in ancient times. Her story in Acts 16:14-15 shows how she used her wealth and influence to support the early church. She is a great example that even business and leadership skills can be used for God's kingdom.

Then there’s Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, whose acts of charity and kindness were so impactful that when she died, the people she helped couldn’t bear to lose her. Peter raised her from the dead because of the great work she had done for her community (Acts 9:36-42). Her story demonstrates that even simple acts of generosity and service can leave a powerful legacy.

Deborah’s story is another great example. As a prophetess and judge of Israel, her wisdom and courage led the nation to victory in battle (Judges 4-5). You don’t need to lead an army into battle, but you can ask God for wisdom and courage in your daily life. Whether it’s reaching out to someone new, standing firm in your beliefs, or defending your faith when challenged, God will give you the words and strength to be a witness.

Each of these women shows that God can use any skill, talent, or gift for His glory. Whether you’re a businessperson, charitable worker, or someone full of wisdom and courage, you can find ways to integrate your passion into your faith. Just as these women did, we can seek creative ways to make an impact, no matter how small we think our talents are.

I challenge you (and myself) to find a way to use your talents for the kingdom of God. You may be surprised at the difference you can make!
